say about the

Joanne Klauber
Owner, Makes Scents |

Makes Scents of Columbus, Texas, owner
Joanne Klauber was a beta-test site for
the MINI PAK’R machine. Klauber started
her fragrance lamps, candles and reed
diffuser oil business from her dining
room, selling on eBay and quickly became
a Power-Seller. Today she operates a
store in Columbus, sells from her own
company web site and continues to sell
on eBay.
Klauber said, “I liked the speed and
flexibility of the MINI PAK’R machine
since so many different cushions could
be made by one machine. Plus its price
was very attractive. I tested the
machine thoroughly, used it every day
and tried several pillow configurations
before settling on Supertube to line my
boxes and Double Cushion on top.”
Klauber said.
“We loaded the film, hit start and let a
bin fill with cushions. There was no
need to monitor the machine. The MINI
PAK’R air cushions immediately gave my
company a professional image. I no
longer looked like someone doing
business from my dining room,” Klauber
concluded.
As soon as production machines were
available, Klauber purchased two. “I
like the MINI PAK’R machine so much I
never want to be without it so I
purchased a second one to use both in
rush times and as a backup.”

Ryan
Bailer
Owner, Upscale Mail |
| |
Ryan Bailey, owner of Upscale Mail, a
pack-and-ship/mail store in Bannochburn,
Illinois, was one of several national
beta test sites for the MINI PAK’R
machine. Ryan liked the MINI PAK’R
machine because it was small and one
roll of film produces between 656 and
1,066 feet of cushions or bubble. Ryan’s
store is very small and the back was
full of stored packaging, rolls of
bubble. Upscale Mail ships approximately
100 packages a day, using Federal
Express, UPS and the Post Office.
“The machine was a success from the
beginning,” said Ryan. “We would make
several rolls of NOVUS Quilt Large
cushions at night, stockpiling enough to
get us through the next day. We replaced
traditional ½ inch bubble with Quilt
Large and it worked perfectly.”
“We also sell rolls of bubble and I was
able to replace those bubble rolls with
rolls of Quilt Large and Quilt Small.
The Quilt cushions were cost effective,
comparable to what I was paying for
bubble but much better quality. In
addition, I was able to offer my
customers specific lengths of Quilt
Large or Quilt Small and that was a real
sales benefit,” continued Ryan.
“This is the first machine that really
works for stores like ours,” said Ryan.
“I’m really impressed with how well it
works. Plus you don’t have to baby sit
it, simply turn it on and just let it
run. I think the machine price is
reasonable and it’s a quick pay-back
with its retail aspect. I could sell
lengths of all the films, not just
bubble. People liked the other cushions
and I had an extra revenue generator,”
concluded Ryan.

Donald Foster
Shipping/Receiving Manager |

Foster saw the MINI PAK’R machine
advertised in the ULINE Catalog and was
curious: would it work well in his
shipping department? Deciding it would
he purchased the MINI PAK’R machine and
put it to work.
H&L Accessory sells aircraft engine
components and ships them
internationally, over 200 packages per
month. The aircraft components are
lightweight, delicate and need superior
protection. Foster uses MINI PAK’R Quilt
Large film for void fill in cartons
containing the already-wrapped
components.
Foster is pleased with the MINI PAK’R
machine and says “it’s a valuable
addition to our warehouse”.

Oestreich
Oestreich Pottery |

Potter Jeff Oestreich ships his
wheel-thrown pottery to customers,
galleries and museums around the world.
When shipping pieces ranging in price
from $60 to $500 and up, packaging is
important. “Quality products deserve
quality packaging,” said Oestreich, “and
I want my packaging to look good,
professional and provide great
protection. I used to have a packaging
company to ship my products but now do
it all myself. I purchased standard size
boxes, made custom labels for my
shipments. At first I used “packing
peanuts” but they took up too much space
in my studio. When I learned about the
MINI PAK’R machine, I immediately wanted
to try it.
“The MINI PAK’R machine is so
convenient. I’m its biggest cheerleader
since I’ve had no breakage since I
started using it. I bought a roll of
each film, tested them and found the
NOVUS Double Cushion and the CELL-O 4 x
8 worked best. I use the 4 x 8 cushions
for void fill around the pots and double
box my pieces with Double Cushion
between the boxes.
“The MINI PAK’R machine is pricy for
potters but I look at it as an
investment. It’s allows me to use clean,
attractive packaging as well as save
money over the long haul. Plus I get the
bonus of saving studio space when I
eliminated peanuts.”

"I saw the MINI PAK’R machine
demonstrated at eBay Live! and liked it
immediately. I purchased one, followed
the simple set-up directions and started
using it to ship cameras and
photographic accessories.
“It’s easy to use and takes care of all
my packaging needs. I use different size
boxes and different products require
different levels of protection. I use
Quilt Large, Quilt Small and Double
Cushion depending on the item.
“One of the best things about the MINI
PAK’R is that its cushions add no weight
to my cartons, saving me and my customer
money. I used to use paper for wrapping
protection and paper makes for heavy
cartons.
“I think the MINI PAK’R machine is
excellent. It’s dependable and keeps my
shipping costs reasonable,” stated
Moritz.

“I read about the MINI PAK’R machine in
the AMPC newsletter and thought it would
be good for my business. I recently
moved to a new location with limited
storage space so like eliminating bags
of packing peanuts from my crowded
backroom. Plus I don’t want to have to
rent off-site storage during the busy
holiday season.”

Robert P. Krause
Mail Depot, Inc. |

Krause attended the AMPC National
Convention and saw the MINI PAK’R
machine demonstrated there.
“I’m a big booster of the MINI PAK’R
concept. Making packaging as needed
saves me from having to rent
mini-storage during the holiday season.
Last year I had to rent storage space so
I would have enough packaging supplies
for my customers during the busy holiday
shipping season. I had to purchase about
120 extra bags of packing peanuts and
rent a storage unit for 90 days for
them.”
