National Field Service Manager
Location residence: Near any major US airport

FP International (FPI), a world-wide leading manufacturer of protective packaging machinery and consumable products has an opening for an experienced National Field Service Manager.
Reporting to the Senior VP of Engineering, the National Field Service Manager will be responsible for directing all North American field service activities within the organization. This includes developing policies and procedures for machine installation, maintenance and technical support of all air cushion products at customer sites. The position is also responsible for driving the “First Priority” service program to “Best in Industry” status and is a key partner to engineering, sales and marketing leadership.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage remote Field Service personnel. Responsible for all activities of this group including organizational structure, proper staffing, service routing and employee performance management.
  • Establish and ensure all field service personnel are trained on equipment and department policies and procedures relating to all field service interactions with customers.
  • Manages “First Priority” service program including reporting of monthly metrics and executing action plans to improve service team based on feedback from the program.
  • Responsible for direct communication with FP European Field Service team to standardize best practices and share technical information.
  • Build and maintain relationships with sales management and engineering leadership to facilitate the communication of key issues, concerns and needs.
  • Maintain communication/training with key distributor and end user Technical Service personnel.
  • Develop and manage training programs to ensure FP Technicians, Independent Contractors, Distributor Technicians, and Remote Sales Representatives are competent, trained and updated to service all FPI equipment.
  • Communication responsibilities will include regular distribution of technical updates and announcements and coordinating with sales management to ensure consistent flow of customer and competitive information.
  • Work closely with quality, engineering, and manufacturing departments for product improvement.
  • Implement and maintain service Oracle modules and updates throughout the technical force for maximum data capture.
  • Develop monthly machine failure reports for management and engineering department.
  • Assist in driving asset management program with Customer Service and Marketing teams.
  • Drive toll-free technical support line to “Best in Industry” status.
  • Serve as escalation point for issues beyond team authority; resolve conflicts involving scheduling, resources, or technical issues.
  • Responsible for budgeting of department's personnel, capital, and operation expenses.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in business or technical science.
  • Minimum 10 years of directly related management experience in a national service operation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication.
  • Individual should have analytical ability, computer skills, cost and budgeting experience and solid organizational, planning and prioritizing skills.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with customers, sales personnel and other departments within the company.
  • Ability to supervise and motivate a national field service organization essential.
  • Up to 50% travel required.

Part-Time Intern (20 hours p/week)
Thornton, IL

FP International (FPI), a world-wide leading manufacturer of protective packaging machinery and consumable products has an opening for a Part-Time Intern in Thornton, IL.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

This intern position is part-time and will work about 20 hours per week in the Manufacturing Department. This position will be responsible for completing cycle counts, researching discrepancies, and completing weekly reconciliation. In addition, they will enter data and complete analysis on raw material usage, assist with ISO documentation, and complete special projects as assigned. Last, they will execute on other responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:
  • Prefers an Associate’s Degree or equivalent
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Access
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to partner with internal customers
  • Must be detail orientated, have strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize
  • A self-starter with excellent communication skills

DETAILS:

We are looking for someone to work in the morning although we will provide some flexibility. The ideal work hours are 7am- 12pm Monday thru Thursday or 7am- 11am Monday thru Friday.

KENTUCKY
Sustaining Engineer
Located in Hopkinsville, KY

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Apply knowledge of materials and engineering theory and methods to design, integrate, and improve manufacturing and refurbishment of current PMOS machines, accessories and handling equipment and related processes. May work with machine designers to refine product designs to increase reliability and decrease costs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design testing methods and test finished products or process capabilities to establish standards or validate process requirements.
  • Communicate manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, or other information to facilitate production processes.
  • Identify opportunities or implement changes to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials and parts.
  • Apply continuous improvement methods such as lean manufacturing to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, or cost-effectiveness.
  • Determine root causes of failures using statistical methods and recommend changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods.
  • Incorporate new methods and processes to improve existing operations.
  • Create and maintain technical bulletins for communication of recommended adjustments, preventative maintenance or design upgrades on PMOS machines.
  • Support new product development and product improvements efforts by conducting in-house trials and overseeing field test activities. This will require ability to generate basic test plans and issue comprehensive test reports.
  • Maintain current parts drawings. Work with engineering on revisions and updates. Provide latest information to manufacturing and purchasing for procurement.
  • Maintain document control systems--including procedures, drawings, work instructions and labeling (both electronic and hard-copied controlled documents.)
  • Coordinate document control issues between external subcontractors, service providers and fulfillment houses, and preparing reports regarding quality/engineering issues.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:

BSME Required. 3-5 years of experience working with industrial equipment. Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of industrial machinery. Ability to create mechanical models and drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks required. Ability to read and understand electrical schematics a plus. Excellent analytical skills, written and oral communications and the ability to bring change to existing operations and creating a liaison role between engineering, sales and field service. ISO 9001 experience related to traceability and document control required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to use common industrial tools and be able to participate in assembly and modification of machinery. Must to able to lift 60 lbs. Some travel required.
